Kenny Anunike, M.A.
Founder & CEO
Kenny was born in Columbus, OH and played collegiately at Duke University. A two-time all-ACC honoree, he left Duke as the program’s all-time leader in career sacks (15) and he also contributed 148 total tackles and 26 tackles-for-loss. He earned two degrees while in Durham: his bachelor’s degree in biological anthropology and anatomy and a master’s in liberal studies. 

 Anunike was signed as a rookie free agent by the Denver Broncos in 2014. He spent two seasons in Denver, including being a part of the Super Bowl 50 winning team (over Carolina), before signing as a member of the New York Jets in 2016.

In 2015 he was awarded the Broncos’ Community Ambassador Award for unparalleled commitment in volunteering, inspiration, and leadership in the Denver community. Anunike also earned a master’s degree in sports coaching at Ohio State in December of 2019 while coaching for The Ohio State University. After coaching for 3 years at Ohio State (Graduate Assistant Defensive Line Coach) and Fordham University (Defensive Line Coach/Defensive Run Game Coordinator) he stepped away from the field to launch his protective equipment company, Skelo Wear.

Skelo Wear produces protective equipment and A.I. powered training devices that enhance player safety and skill development. Kenny’s products aim to protect athletes all around the world so that they can achieve their ultimate dreams while avoiding debilitating injuries!
Laila anunike
Chief Research & Development
Laila is an experienced research professional with a passion for bridging the gap between complex project ideas and real-life implementation. As a skilled communicator, she has been able to lead multidisciplinary teams in achieving their desired outcomes.

Laila’s core motivation within her career is to facilitate projects that will leave a lasting impact and have the potential to influence future policy and therapy methods. In her last position, she worked as a Senior Regulatory Research Coordinator at one of the top Cystic Fibrosis care centers in the country. She has also held research positions at Duke University, University of North Carolina School of Medicine, and University of Maryland School of Medicine.

As part of team Skelo Wear, she is helping to lead the company’s product development efforts by overseeing testing protocols.
